Sid Vicious and Nancy Spungen are the Romeo and Juliet of punk rock and heroin, if instead of a double suicide Romeo may or may not have stabbed Juliet, lived a few more months as an addict/rock star and then eventually killed himself.
Evidence is spotty, but the story goes that Sid and Nancy were shooting up in the nortorious Hotel Chelsea. Sid passed out and woke up to find Nancy wicked dead. The cops arrested him, he tried to kill himself and then they took him to Bellevue. His mom bailed him out. Then he beat Patti Smith’s brother with a beer stein and went to Rikers Island. After 55 days he was bailed out.
That night, he got high again in the house of his new girlfriend (WTF, seriously, new girlfriend?) and died of an overdose.
